Andrea Murray (LCPC, BC-DMT, CCTP, C-HEP)

“I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Certified Healing Embodied Practitioner with seven years of experience in private practice.

I specialize in embodied movement and nervous system work to support the thoughtful, sensitive, self-aware individuals who’ve done the inner work but still feel stuck.

Many of my clients are outwardly capable but inwardly exhausted, craving a more grounded, authentic way of being. They long to feel at home in their bodies, to respond rather than react, and to build relationships rooted in safety and self-trust. In our work together, we create space for reconnection — to sensation, to truth, and to the body’s innate wisdom.

My areas of expertise include navigating life transitions, grief and trauma, managing emotional overwhelm and pervasive shame, and reconnecting with your body and unique purpose.”

Pam Harrington (C-HEP)

“My methodology bridges evidence-based approaches like exposure and response prevention (ERP) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) with mindfulness and somatic awareness, creating a practice that honors both neuroscience and the wisdom of the body. We work to strengthen the neural pathways associated with present-moment awareness rather than threat-detection. I believe that lasting change comes not from techniques that manage symptoms, but from a fundamental shift in one's relationship with uncertainty and discomfort.

Together, we will walk a path toward making decisions from a place of awareness rather than fear. We will learn to stay present with uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and sensations, developing the capacity to respond from a place of self-trust and agency instead of reaction and escape. I believe the answers you seek are already in you, but it’s not what you “think.”

My experience comes from decades of lived experience with OCD and finding freedom through ERP and somatics. I’m also the leader/mentor for a local women’s anxiety group and an Institute for Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. My areas of expertise include anxiety/OCD, challenges with decision-making and overthinking, ERP informed somatic approaches, present-moment awareness, and strengthening self-trust and coping.”

Grace McQueeny (C-HEP)

“My work is a unique blend of verbal processing, embodiment, parts work, and play. I am deeply passionate about the qualities that make each human unique, and I create a safe space in my sessions for clients to be their full, authentic selves.

After years of traditional talk therapy, I felt like something was missing. I noticed the familiar patterns of shame, anxiety, depression, and overwhelm creeping back into my life. I started doing embodiment work and quickly discovered the importance of incorporating my body into healing work. To say my life changed would be an understatement. What I found through my journey as a Healing Embodied client and now an embodiment practitioner is peace, self-trust, and resilience like I have never known. This is what I help my clients find in their bodies, too.

I believe worthiness is inherent and does not need to be earned. I know all humans are made up of many parts, none of which are bad. I can’t wait to support you in living a life you love.

My areas of expertise include shame processing, parts work, the therapeutic use of drama, acting, and character play, supporting those in the corporate world with living a more embodied and holistic life, and helping you connect to your own authentic self.”

Who is Healing Embodied for?

We work with a diverse array of clients from all over the world, regardless of gender identity, relationship status, cultural background, sexual orientation, or location. If you think you might benefit from our work and want to learn how it can support you specifically, we encourage you to book a free clarity call with one of our facilitators. Transformational somatic work is for everyone.

That said, our work best serves people who identify as creatives, leaders, and/or helpers who want to overcome overthinking, perfectionism, and an endless over-achiever’s mindset. If the never-ending search for perfection and certainty are holding you back from fully embracing your life, purpose, and relationships, Healing Embodied is tailor made for you.

Our work is also ideal for those who have tried traditional therapeutic approaches like talk therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, but still feel stuck. You have an intellectual awareness of your patterns, but want support in making lasting, embodied changes to the patterns. You have a sneaking suspicion it’s time to bring your body into your healing process.

If you’re ready to take an integrative approach to healing, rooted in creativity and an in-depth, soulful approach to the whole human experience, Healing Embodied is here for you.

Why work with us?

The facilitators at Healing Embodied, Chelsea Joy Horton and Sarah Rot, are both Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapists who received master’s degrees in Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. Sarah is also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and both Sarah and Chelsea have spent years working in the mental health field, in traditional, clinical settings and non-traditional coaching settings.

What sets our work at Healing Embodied apart from other therapy and coaching options is our dedication to your holistic experience and our belief that the body plays a critical role in the process of healing and transformation. We aren’t here to talk in circles about your thoughts — that just keeps you stuck in your mind. We will help you dig deeper to understand the underlying patterns from a somatic (body/mind) perspective.

Our work will help you confront uncertainty and discomfort by first establishing deep trust within yourself and cultivating a sense of safety within your own body. We aren’t here to help you find certainty (that doesn’t exist in this weird thing called the human experience) — we’re here to help you feel confident and empowered in the face of uncertainty.

Through our work, you will develop a better understanding of your nervous system and how to use your own body to move through fear responses. What we teach is experiential, with an emphasis on the how instead of the what and why. You will learn somatic tools and practices that few other practitioners teach, and these tools will serve you for a lifetime, far beyond our work together.

Last but not least, we didn’t just go to school for this stuff, and we don’t just practice it professionally — our work is rooted in lived experience. We know the power of this work because it has transformed our lives. We teach from an embodied understanding of what it’s like to experience anxiety and how to find freedom. We deeply understand what you’re going through, and we’re here to help guide you and hold space for your experience as you build confidence, safety, trust, and joy in your life.
